Infant Stimulation Activity 117: spool of thread

Changing what a baby sees rolling is as stimulating as the action of rolling. Try rolling a spool of thread towards your baby and then roll it away. This is a great activity for a 2-3 month old to practice eye tracking (following the an object in motion) and a whole different activity for a 4-6 month old who may be able get in on the rolling action.

Always supervise your baby. Baby's have a way of getting all kinds of objects into their mouths; use a spool of thread that is too large for this to happen.

  9. Thanks for following me at Teens and a Toddler... I am following you back!

Yes, my oldest daughter is a type 1 diabetic, she was diagnosed at 7 years old (life changing for us all)...its interesting, they need to find out how and why the islet cells die in the pancreas. They can already do islet cell transplants that work wonders but without an understanding of how and why peoples bodies will just go thru the islet cells dying again. I hope and pray they find a cure in her lifetime and she can stop jabbing herself with needles everyday!
